After a bit of a heavy month in August, September looks to be a promising month of epiphanies, learning the underlying lessons to move forward, and letting go of fears and insecurities potentially holding you back from leaping into your life purpose. In the southern hemisphere, the early stages of spring are more noticeable as the earth reawakens and the days get warmer. In the northern hemisphere, the wheel of the year turns towards autumn, ushering in hues of browns, golds and reds as the cooler months approach. September is also the month of the spring/autumn equinox (traditionally between 20th - 22nd September) - a time of energetic balance and harmony. As a keen gardener, I can't help but use a green analogy for the following notions hehe.
For those of us in the southern hemisphere, this is a great time to tend to the garden of our soul by preparing the soil to plant new intentions - clearing any weeds or dead humus to facilitate fresh new growth. What have you outgrown over the past year? What do you no longer need to hold on to? What obstacles are blocking you from growing or moving forward right now? What needs clearing away to help you feel grounded and secure in your sense of direction and purpose? How can we best bring these energies into balance within ourselves and our lives? What do we need to add or subtract for the best possible outcome?
For those in the northern hemisphere, this is a great time to tend to the garden of your soul by harvesting, preparing, storing and clearing to allow yourself to rest. What areas of your life do you feel most blessed or grateful for? How can you express this gratitude daily? How can you share this with others? What lessons have you learned over this past year that you will take with you into the next phase? What do you need to release or clear? What mindsets and experiences would you like to preserve? Where can you slow down or rest more in your current circumstances?
A New Moon in Virgo on the 30th of August (depending on where you are) kickstarts a fresh page for us to clear the chaff and get serious about our goals. As we lead up to the Full Moon on the 14th, we can expect a few universal nudges around self acceptance, how our sense of sacred space (at home and beyond) influences our sense of well being and purpose, and about dreaming big!
A Full Moon in Pisces on the 14th also coincides with the transit of Mercury and Venus in to harmonious Libra. This time is an especially potent time to create beauty with our words and actions, to communicate with empathy and compassion, and create win-win outcomes by working with others. Team work makes the dream work!
Saturn, the spiritual teacher, also moves direct on the 18th, bringing a much needed mature perspective at our previous experiences and lessons. As this leads up to the equinox, Saturn helps us take a look at our surroundings to help evaluate where we can best balance our time, resources and energy for our highest good. For the lunar lovers, this time also gives us a push to speak our truths confidently and objectively with others.
Some moments of confusion may arise (especially around the 21st when Jupiter squares Neptune), creating conflict arising from inflated expectations, challenged beliefs and ideas, and hyperfocus. To throw an additional spanner in the works, intuition may intensify, creating a strong pull between head and heart. This is the time to trust, surrender and flow. A bump in the road doesn't mean you are on the wrong path. Rest, ground your energy, and reconnect within if you feel especially sensitive to these energies.
Towards the end of the month, opportunities to release outgrown core beliefs, fears and insecurities will be likely (especially with others!) Use this time to rest, recoup and reevaluate priorities and needs pertinent to you.
Wishing you a wonderful month ahead x
